PHOTO SALON Washington's Photo Salon was started by Annie Adjchavanich in 1991 at her studio and later moved to the Washington Center for Photography. The Salon passed to Allen Hockett at WCP in 1987 and continues at Jackson School (see map below). Constructive dialoge is welcome and plentiful, but no person is allowed to disparage an artist of their work. Determined by the work, feedback may be about craft (photographic technology) and/or art (meaning, seeing, scale, etc.)

PHOTO SALON IS FOR PEOPLE WHO: are starting out in photography; have been making a living with a camera for 30 years; want to make art; sometimes go for years without any serious criticism; have question about technology, marketing or vision.

PEOPLE WHO COME TO PHOTO SALON: come with or without work; are from every profession, including photography; see the slides, prints, proofs of others; ask quesions and discuss issues; show new and old work in progress; listen to helpful feedback from peers; |
